Read MoreMeet Jose, a student at Hilda L. Solis Learning Academy. Jose is one of four SRLA students tackling the SRLA SuperSTAR Challenge this season. The SRLA SuperSTAR Challenge is a challenging feat that requires tremendous time and effort. To become an SRLA SuperSTAR, participants must accomplish five tasks. These tasks include having perfect attendance at school, earning at least a B in every class, helping a student they do not know complete a goal or school project, completing every official SRLA training event, and coordinating their SRLA group’s efforts in at least three of the seasons’ SRLA Cares projects to meet or exceed a certain collection amount. It won’t be easy, but that’s why it is a SuperSTAR Challenge.

Being part of Students Run LA has made a significant impact on my life in ways I didn’t think marathon training could. Each year has been unique and special in many ways, making me want to come back for the next marathon despite all of challenges that come with training.
