The SRLA Beachcomber 10K will start at 8AM. The race start is on Vista del Mar and will finish inside of the parking lot/event staging area down near the beach. This is an out and back 10K so runners are encouraged to not crowd the start line and to stay to the right on the course (do not cross the center divider) so as not to impede oncoming runners.
Course map will be provided.
The SRLA Beachcomber 10K course is not stroller friendly and pets are not permitted.
From 405 Freeway:
Transition onto the I-105 W toward EL SEGUNDO, when the freeway ends continue straight on W. IMPERIAL HWY.
From W IMPERIAL HWY, cross over Vista del Mar to the parking area entrance.
Once inside the parking area, go left to the second parking lot north of Imperial Hwy, unless directed otherwise.
Click HERE for Google Map directions.
Please follow the directions of any posted signs if attempting to park on the street. Vista del Mar will be marked as no parking for the run and cars may be ticketed or towed. Cars will be charged $5 to park at the beach (this is a discounted rate for the event). The event staging and bus parking will be in the third lot. Car parking will be in the first two lots.
Please plan to arrive early, with $5 in hand, as the parking entrance will close once the run begins.
Cars and buses parked inside the beach parking areas will be NOT be allowed to begin departing until 9:30 am NOT BEFORE!
About Students Run LA
Students Run LA uses the process of training for the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon to teach our students how to set a goal and work hard to complete it. Over the 7-month training period the students learn how to transfer these skills into their education and their lives. This race (and SRLA in general) is not competitive. SRLA’s motto is “complete NOT compete,” so there will be no overall or age group awards for this race.
SRLA Cares: Every Penny Counts for Cerebral Palsy, Homelessness, and Education!
SRLA Cares encourages students and participants to give back to the community. At this race, please bring pennies to support the following organizations: United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura, & Santa Barbara Counties, Schools on Wheels, and Chrysalis.
The results will be posted online at www.itzabouttime.com. Results will not be available at the event. There will be no age group or overall place winners awarded.
