 I knew that completing the marathon would be hard, but I had a goal and I chose to keep on going. Completing the challenge was very rewarding... In my family, I will be the first person to be graduating from High School... Now I am \'training\' for another challenge: attending college. |

From its inception in 1989 – with 250 leaders and student runners – SRLA’s goal has never wavered: through the Marathon, to teach students that discipline and hard work lead to success, and that success breeds more success. To date, SRLA has served more than 30,000 middle and high school students. That’s 30,000 young people who have learned to set and achieve positive goals, who have experienced “the thrill of victory”, who know they have a bright future, in a city that cares. Participation in SRLA is free to students. Your contribution will help SRLA pay for running shoes, uniforms, race entry fees and nutrition.
